The Hal Gray Unit is a private patient unit with the highest standards of holistic patient care. The unit has its own outpatient consulting rooms and offers a large team of highly trained health professionals dedicated to cancer services which include Consultants, Radiographers, Nursing, Therapies and support staff and includes the following:

Cancer Services
Radiotherapy
Private patients are able to receive radiotherapy treatment on state of the art equipment offering the latest technology to include Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiotherapy Treatment (IGRT), and Rapid ARC technology.
We also offer High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy, treating patients on both an outpatient or inpatient basis. This type of radiotherapy is the treatment of choice for some types of cancer. Our Cyberknife system offers patients the very latest in cancer treatment technology. The system provides a non-invasive alternative to surgery for those who suffer from tumors and other medical conditions.
Chemotherapy
Given both as inpatient and outpatient treatment, patients receive treatment in the Chemotherapy Outpatients Suite at MVCC, a purpose built state of the art unit. Patients receive both simple and complex cytotoxic drug regimens and targeted therapies with pre-treatment assessment clinics, oral chemotherapy and the management of central venous access devices.
Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre
LJMC provides support, information services and complimentary therapies for people affected by cancer. The centre provides a holistic approach to meeting patients’ needs which is considered an integral part of the patient pathway from diagnosis through to treatment and beyond.
Paul Strickland Scanner Centre
All Hal Gray Unit patients at MVCC have access to this local diagnostic on-site scanner service. This is a high quality specialized 3D scanning service with state of the art CT, MRI and Pet/CT scanners and a team of highly skilled staff with the specialist training and knowledge required to perform scanning techniques safely to the highest standard. It also provides accurate diagnoses facilitating appropriate treatment for patients with cancer and other serious diseases. Active in research ensures that the Centre remains at the forefront of scanning both internationally and nationally.
