Mr Rumian is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises exclusively in the treatment of patients with problems of the shoulder and elbow. He studied medicine at Cambridge University and completed his clinical studies at Imperial College School of Medicine. He underwent specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery on the highly regarded North-West Thames rotation in London. His extensive training in complex shoulder and elbow surgery and reconstruction includes completing a prestigious year-long advanced training fellowship working with one of the world’s leading surgeons, Professor Pascal Boileau in France and a further fellowship in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Rumian has been a consultant at the Lister Hospital for over 10 years, leading the Upper Limb Unit. He is the Deputy Clinical Director of the Orthopaedic Department and has received several Clinical Excellence Awards.
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Rumian has published research papers, presented his work at national and international conferences and has been awarded a MD Higher Research degree from the University of London. He is also responsible for teaching higher surgical trainees surgery for trauma and shoulder and elbow disorders and is a faculty member and lecturer on UK and international courses held to teach advanced surgical techniques.
Mr Rumian is married with three children. He spends his spare time with his family and enjoys swimming, golf and skiing.
